SID (Society for Information Display) is aninternational professional organization in the field of display technology.Through its student chapters established in various regions around the world,SID is dedicated to advancing the comprehensive development of informationdisplay technologies, promoting innovation in both academia and industry, andfostering academic exchange and collaboration. As an important regional studentchapter of SID, the Guangzhou Student Chapter is committed to enhancingawareness and understanding of display technologies among universities andenterprises in Guangzhou and neighboring areas, while also supporting students’academic engagement and professional development in this field. The majoractivity plan of the SID Guangzhou Student Chapter for 2026 is outlined asfollows.

Activity 1: Experience-Sharing and Academic Exchangeon ICDT and SID Display Week

Target Participants: Undergraduate and postgraduatestudents from universities in Guangzhou

Description: Faculty members and students who haveattended ICDT and SID Display Week will be invited to share their conferenceexperiences, academic insights, and observations on recent developments indisplay technology, so as to promote scholarly exchange and broaden students’academic perspectives.

Activity 2: Visits to Display Enterprises and CareerDevelopment Exchange

Time: September 2026

Venue: Display-related enterprises inGuangzhou/Shenzhen (to be determined)

Organizers: SID Guangzhou Student Chapter andparticipating enterprises

Target Participants: Undergraduate and postgraduatestudents from universities in Guangzhou and surrounding areas

Description: Students will be organized to visitdisplay-related enterprises, research and development centers, or manufacturingfacilities within the display industry chain. Through these visits,participants will gain a deeper understanding of display devices, manufacturingprocesses, system applications, and current industry trends. In addition,engineers and human resources representatives from the host enterprises will beinvited to provide career development guidance and professional insights, therebyhelping students strengthen their understanding of the display industry andenhance their career awareness.

Activity 3: Inter-University Exchange and StudentNetworking Event on Display Technology

Venue: Relevant universities in Guangzhou and Shenzhen

Target Participants: Undergraduate and postgraduatestudents from universities in Guangzhou and surrounding areas

Description: Students from universities in Guangzhouand neighboring areas will be invited to participate in an inter-universityexchange and networking event focused on display technology. The activity isintended to strengthen communication and connection among students fromdifferent institutions, while encouraging the sharing of academic experiences,research progress, and perspectives related to the field of display technology.
